Data Centre Features
Kent - UK
Our key site is a modern facility based in Sittingbourne, Kent. From here we collect our IP transit from SynergyWorks, operating a fully BGP compliant network utilising a best path routing policy. Our network is provided courtesy of RackSRV Communications.
Power
All clients are guaranteed a redundant high capacity, stable and reliable power supply. Power is isolated between racks and maintained indefinitely.
The datacentre uses high specification UPS units to maintain power to the entire building should the main grid fail. High specification generators can deal with both client and plant load whilst recharging the UPS units.
Air Conditioning
All floors are maintained at a constant 21°C ± 2°C and relative humidity is kept at 50% ± 10% to ensure optimum performance. Both temperature and humidity are continually monitored by the electronic building management system, which also monitors and controls other sensors including electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and leak detection systems.
Fire Detection / Suppression
Kent Science Park utilises Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA). These sensitive smoke detectors are linked to the building management system, which is monitored continually from an operations centre, and provide very early warnings to help prevent fire and business disruption.
In addition, FM200 gas based fire retardants are employed to put out fires instantly in an environmentally friendly way, without damaging equipment.
Los Angeles - USA
Our VPS clients can also benefit from our Los Angeles based servers, which are located in the Telecom Center Carrier Hotel. Telecom Center LA is located in the heart of "Telecom District" in Downtown Los Angeles, and makes use of the main corridor for optical fibre cable in the downtown area, making it a prime location.
Power
High specification and reliable power is provided through a 6000 amps, 277/480 Volt, 3 phase, and 4 wire electrical service, provided by two 3000 amp main distribution switch boards and bus ducts.
This is backed by three 2000KW generators to maintain service should the grid fail.
Air Conditioning
Abundant cooling capacity is provided by a 500 Ton redundant HVAC central plant, consisting of two 250 Ton cooling towers, heat exchanges and water pumps. This system is backed with generator power.
